A Prayer for the Church Program Year
This prayer was provided by the PC (USA) through the mission and ministry of Churchwide Special Offerings. It is a prayer for our churches as we contemplate the beginning of a new program year.
O God, gather us back, gather us in, and surround us with community and your grace as classes kick off, studies return, and opportunities for formation and fellowship begin anew.
By your Spirit, walk with families as they resume familiar or even new routines of school and activities as time together becomes scarce again.
Support church staff and volunteers as they re-engage faithful people through worship, study, fellowship, and prayer.
By your grace, grant us all a renewed spirit as we prepare for our stewardship season, the quickly approaching Advent season, curriculum changes, and session and committee meetings.
Strengthen us for the journey ahead by providing us with energy, wisdom, and enthusiasm for the mission and ministry we do in your holy name. Remind us of your love when the days are long, the task seems to never end, and the emails pile up. Give us the gift of levity and help us know that you, O God, are with us every step of the way.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
First Presbyterian Church welcomes the new BISD staff members to our community! Our Presbyterian Women furnished 60 goodie bags for them to enjoy as they start the new school year.

ANOTHER ARTIST IN OUR MIDST…
Our own Nancy Sugarek will be participating in the 2025 Texas Artists Exhibition at the Beeville Art Museum, August 2, 25. Nancy will be showing her photograph of a beautiful sunset with the silhouette of a pumpjack in the foreground. Nancy also paints in acrylics. Shown here is her acrylic painting of the big stained glass window in our sanctuary.
Habitat Happenings
Bee County Habitat for Humanity has been working through the heat of summer trying to accomplish two goals.
We have scheduled a one-day Brush with Kindness event for a young homeowner who needs some weatherization help at her home in the country. This will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
We are reopening applications for our 4th home. The initial applications provided no applicants who met all criteria for selection. Applications will be opened until September 1. If you know someone who might be interested, have them pick up an application from our Habitat office in the Activities Building on Wednesday or Friday afternoons from 1:30-4:30 or by contacting Pastor Taylor.
We have been having some trouble with delivery to our Post Office box (4333) but are always excited to get donations.
Presbyterian Women
The next meeting of the Presbyterian Women's Circle will be held at A Box of Chocolates on Thursday, August 14th at 11:30 a.m., with lunch at 12:00. The cost of the meal will be $24.65 and will include parmesan chicken, lettuce wedge salad, hot rolls, apple pastry for dessert, and coffee and tea. All women of the church are invited to attend. The new study books have come in and will be available in both regular ($14.00) and large print ($20.00). If you have any questions, please contact Carol Williams.
