The Gift of Connection
Connection is one of God’s quiet miracles. It doesn’t always an-nounce itself, but it shapes our lives more than almost anything else. In Scripture, connection is not optional—it is the way God designed His peo-ple to flourish.
CONNECTED TO CHRIST
Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” It’s a picture of life that flows, not life that strains. A branch doesn’t bear fruit by trying harder; it bears fruit by staying attached. In a busy season, connection to Christ of-ten looks simple: a whispered prayer, a moment of Scripture before the day begins, a pause to remember His presence. These small acts keep us rooted in the One who gives strength, peace, and purpose.
CONNECTED TO ONE ANOTHER
Paul tells us to “carry each other’s burdens.” That instruction assumes closeness. It assumes we know one another well enough to notice when someone is struggling. In a world that encourages independence, the gos-pel calls us into shared life. A phone call, a meal, a word of encourage-ment—these are holy acts. They remind us that God often delivers His comfort through the hands and voices of His people.
CONNECTED TO PURPOSE
Hebrews urges us to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Connection doesn’t just comfort us; it activates us. When we walk closely with Christ and with one another, our purpose becomes clearer. We re-member that our gifts matter. Our service matters. Our presence matters. God uses connected people to accomplish His work in the world.
A THOUGHT FOR THIS MONTH
Where do you feel most connected right now? Where do you feel least connected? Sometimes the place of disconnection is the very place God is inviting us to return.
PRAYER
Lord, reconnect our hearts to You. Reconnect our lives to one another. Reconnect our purpose to Your mission. Make us a church that abides, encourages, and bears fruit for Your glory. Amen.
