…And Our Story Continues
What a celebration we had on Sunday, May 25! Our beautiful Lillie Ramon celebrated her 97th birthday with a birthday cake after church. Flowers in the Sanctuary that day were also given by her daughter Rita in honor of her birthday and all the joy she brings to her family. She also brings lots of joy to her church family! Happy birthday again, Lillie, and next year we’ll celebrate 98!
On Sunday, June 1, we had the tremendous joy of celebrating at the other extreme end of our church family. Our little Quinn Davis Garza was baptized by Rev. Don Taylor. She was presented for baptism by her parents Martin and Sarah Garza, big brother Brayden, and big sister Kamdyn. Great Grandmother Cherry McClintock was present to witness this special day in the life of Quinn’s family, church family, and friends. Lots of other family members and friends were there, too!

Called Congregational Meetings for Sunday, May 18 to elect a church nominating committee, and then Sunday, June 8 to hear the report of the nominating committee and elect a Pastor Nominating Committee.
Heard about this summer’s Vacation Bible School Drama Camp, to be held at First Christian Church, July 7-10 from 6:00-8:00 pm
Planned to have the New Teacher Luncheon again this summer
Approved the cost of replacing the faucets in the church ladies’ room
Elected Tim Rider to serve as our commissioner to the June 20, 21 meeting of Mission Presbytery
Noted that our church gave $371.97 for the One Great Hour of Sharing Special Offering. Thank you!
Noted the May 6 death of Wayne Dirks, and the May 7 death of Lee Ann Stubbins.

NEW TEACHER LUNCHEON
We will be providing lunch for the New Teacher Inservice at the beginning of the next school year. This project has been successful in past years because of all the excellent help we’ve had with food preparation, putting plates together on that day, and delivery. Please be thinking of ways you might be able to help with this project.

MISSION STATEMENT
The First Presbyterian Church of Beeville is called to honor God through: Christ-centered worship, fellowship, outreach, and service encompassing the whole people of God.
Presbyterian Women
The next meeting of the Presbyterian Women's Circle will be held on Thursday, June 12th at 9:30 a.m. Please join us for a time of fellowship before the lesson. Everyone is invited to bring a food item to share. Please read study book Lesson Nine: "Sustaining Creation’s Health for All". The gathering will take place in the Fellowship Hall, and all women of the church are invited to attend. Plans will be made that day for the August meeting.

THE WEEK BEFORE PENTECOST
After Jesus’ ascension, the apostles followed his instructions to wait in Jerusalem for the coming of the Holy Spirit. They prayed, waited, and selected Matthias to replace Judas Iscariot as one of the apostles. It was a time marked by expectation, and they were preparing for the Holy Spirit to come and empower them to be God’s witnesses throughout the world. It was a time of faith, obedience, and readiness for the outpouring of the Spirit. Let us prepare ourselves for Pentecost, and may we all wear red next Sunday!
