Caring and Sharing

May: A Month of Milestones, Gratitude, and New Beginnings

May arrives each year like a deep breath - full of endings, beginnings, and the gentle reminder that God is present in every season of our lives. This month, our church family has much to celebrate, much to honor, and much to lift in prayer.

Celebrating Our Graduating Seniors

We rejoice with our graduating high school seniors as they prepare to step into new chapters of life. We give thanks for their hard work, their resili-ence, and the gifts God has placed within them. As a congregation, we surround them with our prayers: that God will guide their steps, strength-en their faith, and open doors for service, growth, and joy. “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” (Psalm 37:5)

Honoring Mothers and Mother Figures

On Mother’s Day, we pause to honor the women who have shaped us -mothers, grandmothers, aunts, mentors, teachers, and friends. We give thanks for their love, their sacrifices, and the countless ways they reflect the nurturing heart of God. We also hold space for those for whom this day brings grief, longing, or complicated emotions. As a church family, we walk with one another in both celebration and tenderness.

Marking the Last Day of School

As the school year draws to a close, we celebrate students, teachers, staff, and families who have poured themselves into another year of learning and growth. We pray for rest, renewal, and safe summer days ahead. May this season be one of laughter, discovery, and the simple joy of being un-hurried.

Remembering on Memorial Day

At the end of the month, we observe Memorial Day - a solemn moment to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our coun-try. We honor their sacrifice and pray for the families who carry their memory every day. May we be a people who work for peace, justice, and compassion in our own communities, inspired by their courage.

A Month Held in God’s Hands

May is a tapestry of gratitude, remembrance, celebration, and transition. Through every milestone—joyful or solemn—God remains faithful. As we move through this month together, may we be attentive to God’s presence, generous with our love, and eager to support one another in every season.

Presbyterian Women

The next meeting of the Presbyterian Women will be held on Thursday, May 14 at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall, with Rev. Maggie Mossler leading Lesson #8, “Remembering Jesus’ Bap-tism”. Carol Williams and Lana Massengale will serve as host-esses. We will be recognizing our graduating seniors, Brayden Martorell and Jock Teke on Sunday, May 3rd during worship. We will be celebrating the PW Birthday and Offering as well on that day. A cake and punch reception will follow in the Fellow-ship Hall.
